The following if from The Houstonist on of my favorite online publications. Now I know that I am not the biggest U2 fan, I like them but honestly I anyone that knows me know that I am a bigger fan of The Edge then Bono. But I digress, but a band like U2 likes to pull out all the stops when it comes to touring and their stage set up.

Over the years and thanks to an old friend I have grown to appreciative all the time, effort and skill it takes to get it all set up so the fans have something to gawk at. And of course, U2 goes all out when it comes to putting on a show.

In all of my infinite wisdom (as well as my obgyn office) I am going to take at 3:30 pm appointment today to have the wonderful b.c. put in.

Now I know that sounds a bit crazy, but I have been waiting on this for over TWO months now and it must be put in during a cycle, and the lovely person that said that they were going to contact me about it never did. So I called yesterday and got a little bit irritated and FINALLY got in for today….

Blah, Blah, Blah…

SO off I go to pick Riley up from school early, cause the office is in Katy and Riley’s school lets out at 3:15 AND the appointment is at 3:30.

(you see the issue here? ok.)

Let’s hope I get through taking BOTH of my sons with me to the obgyn without issue, tantrums or questions like “mommy why is your leg on that thing??”

The boys have a new baby cousin!

Lyall’s sister, Dottie had her baby today just a few hours ago in Dallas.

I thought that I was being THRIFTY a few months back when I scored a mop bucket for less then $5.00 at the local Walmart by our house. But apparently my determination for finding a bargan back fired on me.

Just about 15 minutes ago I figured out why.

poor bucket, it had a good life.

Granted the floor is REALLY CLEAN now (and so is the floor underneath the refrigerator, dishwasher AND wine cooler) and I have nothing to complain about except that my pants and legs and feet now has that awesome Murphy’s Oil Soap smell.

From now on I am using that trusty 5 gallon paint bucket that they sell at The Home Depot. At least I know that I’d hurt myself carrying the darn thing before it breaks on me.

This must be some “Native American Rain Dance” equivalent. So should I say “stay at home mom rain dance” of sorts.  It seems like every time I try to mop the WHOLE house at one time it starts pouring down rain.  I must sound crazy by saying that I mop my house in quadrants but I do. I mop the high traffic areas first, then the rest of the house. Not saying that my house is big by any means, it’s  just how I do things. It’s a lot easier when you have one less kid to police around the house when it’s wet. So when Riley plays at his friends house I mop.

The title above is the God’s honest truth. I do have good intentions when it comes to keeping this thing updated, but some reason or another I get distracted. But all I can say is that I will try to do better. I’m slowly working on revamping some stuff on here, one step at a time. The next post will surely be about what we have been up to for the past few months!

A few weeks back Julian and I met up with our play group Baby Steps for some good old fashion fun at Herman Park. Though Julian and I didn’t have the time to ride the train we did spend some time at the swings. I swear that I had more photos of Courtney’s daughter, Helena & Jennifer’s son Cameron.

today is david’s birthday.

our dear friend today he would have been 26.

the world has it’s reasons for taking one’s close to us entirely way to soon. i/we are not an exception to this.

on monday february 9, 2009 on a very rain slick road in clear lake, texas is where the world took david away from all the loved him. we think about him daily and it’s still pretty hard to fully grasp that he’s not a phone call away anymore.

it’s unfair. REALLY UNFAIR.

though the last thing that david would want us to do is to sit here and kick n’ scream about it being unfair and that is was keeps us going day in/ day out.

i’d like to think that we celebrate his life every single day in our own ways.

today is no exception..

we are going to raise a glass of crown in honor of our dear friend every year on his birthday from here on out.
