today is david’s birthday.

our dear friend today he would have been 26.

the world has it’s reasons for taking one’s close to us entirely way to soon. i/we are not an exception to this.

on monday february 9, 2009 on a very rain slick road in clear lake, texas is where the world took david away from all the loved him. we think about him daily and it’s still pretty hard to fully grasp that he’s not a phone call away anymore.

it’s unfair. REALLY UNFAIR.

though the last thing that david would want us to do is to sit here and kick n’ scream about it being unfair and that is was keeps us going day in/ day out.

i’d like to think that we celebrate his life every single day in our own ways.

today is no exception..

we are going to raise a glass of crown in honor of our dear friend every year on his birthday from here on out.

Yoga in the Park.

It’s Saturday morning and I am gearing up for Yoga in the Park @ Discovery Green. While most people try to spend it sleeping in and lounging, I take this small time to do something for myself. Lyall states that this is extremely important for my sanity and his as well.

what happened monday morning.

This morning was like any other morning, after the mid morning lull with the kiddos I had put Julian down for his nap. Though this morning he was a bit cantankerous to begin with so his nap was not going to come easy. Oh man. I put him in his crib hoping that he would complain for about 10 minutes and get bored and go to sleep. (Something that he does all the time.) Oh, no today he decided to complain for double the time he normally does. About that time Lyall calls us and wants to know what we are doing for lunch. I had told him that nothing was in the que and off we go to lunch at Chick-fil-A. I had told Riley to go and get ready since daddy was on his way and we only had a few minutes before Lyall got here.

I had gone into Julian’s room to get him ready. I found him in his crib trying to grab toys of the window sill, which is nothing out of the norm for him but I had taken a double take. The child was COMPLETELY NAKED! I mean birthday suit naked. Mind you he was in a full romper type outfit and a cloth diaper. (a kushies aio) For some reason the child had some how taken his outfit off as well as his diaper! I honestly don’t know how long he was like that but it was definitely one of the funniest things that I have ever seen from this child.

I only know that, it will also not be the last time I see something like this from Julian. I was laughing so hard that I had to call Lyall who was only about 5 minutes away to tell him what had happened. He had no idea what to say but, “that’s freaking hilarious, Kim.”

I can’t wait what this child will do next. Really.

Hooray for Sarah & Mark!!!

I just also wanted to add that my friend from high school and ex sun & skier and his beautiful wifey finally had there baby yesterday!!!

August Rylan Retzloff was born via c-section in Livermore, CA on August 11, 2008 at 1:27 am!

They are doing VERY well and I can’t wait to see more pictures!

Julian and August are exactly 10 months apart! Cool huh?

i am putting the kids to bed early so lyall and i can watch the opening ceremony of the olympics.

but i LOVE the hoopla of it all and i have been watching it for as long as i can remember.

So I know it’s late because I have VH-1 on in the bedroom and they are actually playing music videos. It is strange but it is true and they do exisits from time to time. In fact I just heard that new Alanis Morrisette song from her new album or at least I think it sounded like her. Like I said, it is late and I can’t guarrantee if it is or not but I am 95% sure. Now it’s Lenny Kravitz and I love me some Lenny. (ha!) I wish they played music videos during the day like they used to, it was awesome.

Sigh….
